Our Team

Principal Investigator: Frankie Wade, Ph.D.
Email: [email protected]
Office: ENS 311
Dr. Wade received her Ph.D in Kinesiology (Biomechanics) from Penn State University in 2020, followed by postdoctoral training at the University of Florida and the University of Illinois at Chicago. She joined SDSU in 2023, where she directs the BAM Lab and is Program Director for the MS Kinesiology program.
The BAM Lab prioritises mobility in aging. Any time we leave the house, we must react and respond to the environment and the task we’re trying to do. For example, speeding up when crossing at a crosswalk, trying to navigate a grocery store, or even just walking while talking on the phone. Each of these tasks has both physical and cognitive requirements, and our ability to integrate these systems gets worse with aging. Our research focuses on how adaptable we are while walking, and how this might be related to fall risk and fear of falling.
Current Graduate Students:Jasmaine Bubier-Hunter, MS Exercise Physiology
Undergraduate Students:
We have a team of BS Kinesiology and BS Engineering students who volunteer as research assistants. If you are interested in volunteering, and can commit to at least 1 year, please contact Dr. Wade before the start of the Fall or Spring semesters or at the end of Spring if you are available over the summer.
